Privacy Policy — Clone Crisis

This policy covers Clone Crisis: Grid Puzzle (the mobile puzzle game, "the game") published by Swift Orbit Studios LLC ("we", "us"). We wrote it in plain language on purpose. The short version: the game has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server of ours. It shows a small number of non-personalized ads, collects a small amount of anonymous gameplay analytics, and offers one $2.99 purchase that removes ads. We never see your name, email address, contacts, precise location, or advertising ID, and we do not sell data to anyone.

1. Who we are

The game is published by Swift Orbit Studios LLC. For anything in this policy, contact us at: [email protected].

2. What we collect

The game collects data through two Google services, both acting as service providers to us. We run no server and no database of our own.

Google Analytics for Firebase (analytics). When you play, the game records anonymous gameplay events — things like "a level was started", "a level was completed in 34 moves and 142 seconds", "a level was restarted", "the stuck-detector fired", "an ad was shown or held back", "a locked level was tapped". These events describe the game, not you: they contain level numbers, move counts, durations, and reason codes, and nothing else. To count players and returning players, the analytics service generates a random identifier (the "app instance ID") the first time you open the game. It is a random number: it is not your name, not your device serial number, and not an advertising ID, and it identifies only this installation of this game. Analytics also derives your approximate (city/country level) location from your IP address and records basic device information (such as device model and OS version).

Google AdMob (advertising). To show ads, the ad service processes ad interaction data (which ads were shown and tapped), approximate IP-derived location, basic diagnostics about how the app runs on your device (such as launch time, hang rate, and energy impact), and certain device identifiers as part of its baseline operation — including the App Set ID, a resettable identifier that Google does not permit to be used for ad personalization. Our own analytics does not use or add the App Set ID.

Data sent to these services is encrypted in transit (TLS).

3. What we do NOT collect

  • No advertising ID. The game is built so that the Android advertising ID permission is actively removed from the app. No component of the game — ours or Google's — can transmit your advertising ID, because the app has no permission to read it.
  • No accounts and no sign-in. There is nothing to register and nothing to log into.
  • No personal information. No names, email addresses, contacts, photos, microphone, precise location, or free-text input. The game never asks for any of these.
  • No purchase history in analytics. If you buy the no-ads purchase, that fact is handled by Google Play; it is never linked into our analytics, and our analytics property is not connected to Google Play at all.
  • Nothing is sold. We do not sell or rent any data, and we share it with no one except Google acting as our service provider for the two services above.

4. Why we collect it

  • Advertising: to show a limited number of interstitial ads between levels (see section 5) that keep the game free.
  • Analytics: to understand where levels are too hard or too easy, whether the game is stable, whether players return, and whether the ad frequency limits are behaving as designed. That is the whole list.

5. Advertising — non-personalized, child-safe, capped

All ads in the game are non-personalized. Every ad request is tagged for child-directed treatment and restricted to G-rated (general audience) ad content, for every player, everywhere — the game does not profile anyone, of any age, for advertising. Ad-personalization signals are disabled in our analytics configuration as well.

Ads are also deliberately infrequent: interstitials appear only between levels, never during play, never when you restart a level, and never during the first levels of the game, subject to both a minimum number of completed levels and a minimum time between ads.

6. The no-ads purchase

The game offers a single one-time in-app purchase ($2.99, "Remove ads"). Payment is handled entirely by Google Play — we never receive or store your payment details. After the purchase, interstitial ads stop, so the ad service stops producing ad-related data for you; anonymous gameplay analytics (section 2) continues. Purchase records live in your Google Play account under Google's own terms, not in our analytics.

7. Children

The game is designed to be safe for everyone, including children, and one configuration applies to every player worldwide:

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — or from anyone: the game has no way to ask for it (section 3).
  • No advertising ID is transmitted, for any player (the permission is removed from the app).
  • All ads are non-personalized and restricted to G-rated content, with every ad request tagged for child-directed treatment.
  • The only persistent identifier in our analytics is the random per-installation app instance ID described in section 2, and analytics data is kept for only two months (section 9).

Parents: if you believe we have somehow received personal information about a child, contact us at the address in section 1 and we will delete it.

8. Consent and your choices

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the game shows a consent form at first launch (Google's consent framework). Because all ads are non-personalized for everyone regardless of consent, the form's practical effect is your choice about analytics storage. You can revisit and change your privacy choices at any time from the game's Settings → Privacy screen.

Everywhere else, analytics runs by default under the lawful bases described in section 10, and the controls in section 9 (reset and deletion) are available to everyone.

Withdrawing consent stops future analytics storage; note that it does not by itself reset the app instance ID — resetting the identifier is a separate step, taken on your device by clearing the game's app data or by uninstalling and reinstalling the game (section 9).

9. Retention, reset, and deletion

  • Retention: user-level and event-level analytics data is retained for 2 months from collection, the minimum the analytics service offers — and the window is not extended by continued play (the service's "reset user data on new activity" option is turned off). (Aggregate statistics — e.g. "how many players finished level 12" — do not identify anyone and may persist longer.)
  • Reset: clearing the app's data (Android Settings → Apps → Clone Crisis → Clear data) or uninstalling and reinstalling the game resets the app instance ID, disconnecting any previously collected events from your installation.
  • Deletion: you can ask us to delete analytics data at the contact address in section 1, and we will action the request with Google's deletion tooling. Because the data is keyed only by the random app instance ID, we may need to work with you to identify which data is yours — we cannot look anyone up by name, because we do not have names.

10. Your regional rights

European Economic Area / United Kingdom / Switzerland (GDPR and equivalents). Our legal basis for analytics storage is your consent, collected and withdrawable as described in section 8; for delivering the game and its non-personalized ads it is our legitimate interest in operating a free, ad-supported game with minimal data. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority. Exercise any of them via the contact address in section 1.

California (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising — all ads are non-personalized. You have the right to know what we collect (this policy is the complete list), the right to delete (section 9), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. We collect no sensitive personal information.

Other regions. We apply the same posture everywhere: minimal collection, no personalization, short retention, and the same reset and deletion paths for everyone.

11. Security

Analytics and advertising traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). The analytics identifier lives in the app's private storage on your device. We hold no user database of our own — there is no Swift Orbit Studios server to breach.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change what the game collects or how, we will update this policy at this address and update its effective date. A change of the publishing entity's legal name will be published as a re-issued policy. Material changes that widen data collection would also be reflected in the game's store-listing data safety declaration before they take effect.
