Clone Crisis: Grid Puzzle - delete your data

Swift Orbit Studios

This page is for players of Clone Crisis: Grid Puzzle (the mobile puzzle game, published by Swift Orbit Studios LLC) who want the analytics data about their installation deleted. It is a short companion to our privacy policy, which is the complete description of what the game collects: https://swiftorbitstudios.com/privacy/clone-crisis

The short version: the game has no accounts and no sign-in, and we run no server of our own. The only data the game can send is a small amount of anonymous gameplay analytics, and only if you chose Send stats when the game asked. If you never tapped Send stats, nothing was collected and there is nothing to delete.

How to ask

Send an e-mail to privacy@swiftorbitstudios.com. That is the whole mechanism: there is no form to fill in, nothing to sign in to, and nothing to install. A parent or guardian may ask on a child's behalf.

A subject line such as Clone Crisis - delete my data helps us sort it. Because the data is keyed only by a random number (see What is deleted), we cannot look you up by name or by your e-mail address. To help us find which data is yours, please include what you can of the following - all of it is information the analytics service already records, and nothing else is needed:

  • the make and model of the device you played on (for example "Samsung Galaxy S24"), and its Android version if you know it;
  • roughly when you played, and roughly when you tapped Send stats (a month is fine);
  • the country, or the city, you played from.

You do not need to tell us your name, and we will use your e-mail address only to answer you. Please do not send anything else: the game has no account, no password and no payment details, and it never shows you its random identifier, so we will never ask for those.

We will reply from the same address, work with you if we need more detail to tell your data apart from other players', and confirm when the deletion is done.

What is deleted

The analytics events recorded for your installation - things like "a level was started" or "a level was completed in 34 moves and 142 seconds", together with the device model, OS version and approximate (city or country level) location the analytics service attaches to them. They are keyed by one random number, the analytics service's app instance ID, which is generated the first time analytics is turned on and identifies only this installation of this game. We delete them through Google's deletion tooling for the analytics service (Google Analytics for Firebase, which processes the data on our behalf).

The honest limit. We hold no names, e-mail addresses, account identifiers or device serial numbers - the game never collects them - so we cannot look anyone up. We may need to work with you, using the details above, to identify which data is yours. If we cannot tell your data apart with confidence, it is still deleted automatically after two months (next section).

What is kept

Aggregate statistics that identify no one - for example, how many players finished level 12 - may persist longer. They are counts, not records of any player.

Automatic deletion after two months

Whether or not you ask, user-level and event-level analytics data is kept for 2 months from the time it is collected, the shortest period the analytics service offers, and the window is not extended by continued play. After that it is deleted by the service on its own.

Do it yourself: reset the identifier on your device

Clearing the game's app data (Android Settings > Apps > Clone Crisis > Clear data), or uninstalling and reinstalling the game, resets the app instance ID. Any events collected before the reset are no longer connected to your installation, and they age out after two months as described above.

Please note: either step also erases your saved game progress. Your progress and settings are kept only on your device, never on a server, so there is no copy to restore from.

Stopping collection (this is not a deletion)

In the game, open Settings > Privacy > Send play stats. If it reads On, one tap turns it Off and collection stops immediately - no confirmation, nothing lost, the game plays exactly the same. This stops anything further from being collected; it does not delete what was already collected (ask us, above, or wait two months) and it does not by itself reset the identifier (previous section).
